JAPAN - MAJORITY OF EXECS INTERESTED INTRAINING AND EDUCATION, BUT NOT IN WAGE INCREASES (NIKKEI ASIAN REVIEW)

When asked, 60% of executives at majorJapanese companies said they are interested in investing more in training andeducation of personnel, according to an article by the Nikkei Asian Review.However, fewer than 10% said their company planned to raise wages by the 3%target encouraged by the government, despite the sense of a growing economy.The survey included responses from 142 presidents, chairmen and otherexecutives.
